"Grammy's" Tradition
Each year, a few weeks before Christmas, I take all my grandchildren for a weekend together with Grammy. We traditionally bake and frost cookies for them to take home as well as they get to make a present for mommy and daddy. I also give them each a Christmas ornament so that by the time they are grown, they will have their own ornament collection to hang on their own trees. The weekend presents their mommies and daddies with plenty of time to go shopping and take care of whatever else they need to do in a kid free environment. I tell them that they cannot call their children on this particular weekend, because just like they need some "kid free" time, the kids need some "mommy and daddy free" time as well, plus this is my weekend to spoil them as much as I want! hehe. This year, I felt they were pretty much big enough to do some gingerbread houses. The results are below. We had a great time baking, frosting, decorating, playing in the snow, drinking hot chocolate and just spending time together. I love my grandkids!

Merry Christmas!
I have tons of new stuff to upload, but alas, it will have to wait until after the holiday as they are all Christmas presents and you just never know when one of your grown, adult, children will want to check out mom's blog, so until after Christmas, I won't be posting any pics.
Merry Christmas to you all and hope you all have a very wonderful New Year that is filled with all things, good, fun and crafty!
Hugs!

Christmas Cardinal
I love the story behind the Christmas Cardinal and decided I wanted to make a cardinal tile in vinyl. For those of you who don't know what hte story is, here it is according to Wikipedia...
Christened the Christmas bird for its spectacular red color, the cardinal has become a symbol of the beauty and warmth of the holiday season. A glimpse of this brilliant bird brings cheer, hope and inspiration on a gray, wintery day. It is nature's reminder for us to focus on our faith and the cardinal's scarlet plumage represents the blood that Christ shed for the redemption of mankind. Thanks for looking, and here's hoping you all have a very merry CHRISTmas!

A few more items for the bazaar
these are some really quick recipe card holders that I threw together for the upcoming bazaar and a calendar made completely from scraps that I had left over from other projects. Even the cardboard center of the calendar is from the cuttlebug embossing folders I have and saved. I saw a great video on this on Leah's Desktop Dictonary that gave me the idea to try it... here is the url http://leahfung.typepad.com/leahs_desktop_dictionary/ She and her two friends produce some really great video tutorials on how to make just about everything you could possibly think of... check her website out it is definitely worth it!

More decorative tiles...Christmas is coming!
Hi everyone, where does the time go? It seems the older I get the quicker time flies, especially for those of us who are creative crafters! Christmas is just right around the corner already and I am busily making tiles for a craft bazaar and for gifts for family and friends. Here are just some of the tiles that I have made lately, and as always, thanks for looking.

Another Swap
Ok, so I told you already I am hooked on swaps! I love it, each time you get a package, even though you know basically what is coming, it is so exciting to open the box and see the contents close up! Everytime you get a return package it is like a holiday! Well this time I joined the Anything but a card Christmas Swap - again Jes aka munkee is the host, I trust her implicitly! She is prompt, keeps on top of her swap and always checks her msgs! To me, these things are important and I truly appreciate her hostessing skills! These are the items I am swapping this time. I made 6 santa suit cocoa mugs, filled with cocoa and a chocolate/peppermint stirring spoon, as well as 6 snowflake bracelets packaged in a powdery blue cardstock box with a silver bow and an extra snowflake charm attached. Can't wait to see what I get in return! TFL
