Teacher gifts and class party gifts.

I saw a cute little witch shoe with oreos to make the stockings.  didn't really care for the look of the all green stocking, so decided to try the orange and green together.  The shoe pattern I used is from Penny Duncan Creations.

The water bottles are for my granddaughter's class party.  Just did a simple drink holder with a bat on them.  The teachers didn't want any juice drinks that would leave any color on the carpet if spilled, so we decided to fill the drink holders with sugar free lemonade.  Was in a hurry to take a pic and just realized I put the drink mix upside down lol

Passing on my love of Crafting

My granddaughters are 6, 5 and 4 now.  And though they have always crafted with me, they are now getting to the age that I can teach them to do things all by themselves.  Last night I taught my 5 year old how to finger knit a scarf that she can wear this winter.   I showed her how to cast on her fingers and then helped her with the first two rows.  After that, she had it down pat and didn't need or WANT any more help!!! lol So I just let her go at it and watched her carefully.  She is such a quick learner!  Within an hour she had a very long piece completed before deciding she was sleepy and it could wait until morning.  So, I marked her stitches so she could resume in the morning.  She woke up this morning and the first thing she said was , "I wanna finish my scarf grammy!"  Wow, before breakfast even...and she did.  Here she is at beginning, midway and finished product!.  I am so proud of her! :)

Homemade Oreos

My granddaughters spent the weekend with Grammy so we decided to make some homemade Oreos.  They turned out great and are so easy to make!  I used a small cookie scoop so that all the cookies would be uniform in size and found that the same cookie scoop made the perfect amount of filling for the middles!

Homemade Oreos Recipe

Cookies:
2 boxes Devils food cake mix
4eggs
2/3 cup oil

preheat oven to 325 degrees
mix all ingredients together until well mixed and smooth.
use cookie scoop to place cookies on ungreased cookie sheets.
bake for ten minutes (cookies will still be a bit soft, they will harden as they cool) let cool completely before adding filling. *makes 70 single cookies

Filling:
3 cups of powdered sugar
1/2 cup of butter
1/4 cup of crisco or lard
2 tsp Vanilla
Milk (just enough to make mixture smooth)

cream butter and crisco until well blended and smooth.  Add powdered sugar and vanilla, blend together, mixture may be crumbly looking, add milk by the tablespoon until the mixture just begins to come together.  You want it to be stiff enough to hold up in between the cookies.  Use same scoop that you made cookies with to add the filling between two cookies, gently press the cookies together just until he filling reaches the edges.  enjoy!  *makes 35 filled cookies.

Paper Dolls

Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to share a blog that I came across today quite by accident.  If any of you have little girls, daughters, granddaughters, nieces etc.  You are going to want to check out Nancy's blog.  She has the most adorable little paper dolls that she created.  Their names are Maddalee and Jessa.  Each doll comes with 4 separate outfits.  The best part is that they are FREE!!!!!  All that is required is to leave a comment with your email and Nancy will graciously send you a link so that you can download your own set of dolls and their super cute clothes!  I personally have 4 granddaughters, ages 4 to 6, and I think that these adorable dolls are going to be part of their Christmas presents!  Check out Nancy's "Maddalee.blogspot.com" you won't be sorry and the little girls in your life are going to love you!!!!  Don't forget to follow her while you are there!

Full Moon

I got this file from someone last year, after Halloween, so I hadn't had a chance to use it yet.  For the life of me I can't remember who I got the file from and i didn't write it down.   I feel really bad because I would love to give the person credit, so if it is your file, please let me know so I can credit you.
Anyway, I had a fundraiser that I was involved in and thought I would do this sign.  The file was in a square pattern, So I just used the witch part of the file and retyped the wording so that it would fit on a rectangular sign.  This was the result.  TFL
